Screenshots option can be disabled by unchecking Screenshots in the General tab in the Preferences Window (in the menu bar, SpaceKeep -> Preferences…)

How do I create a Favorites list of Workspaces?
To add a Workspace to your Favorites list, select the Workspace from the left sidebar and click the bookmark icon at the top right of the window. To filter the left sidebar list of workspaces to only show your favorite workspaces, click the Filter button on the top left and select ‘Favorites only’ from the dropdown menu.

Why did an App I saved in my Workspace re-open in a previous position it was in before I saved it?
When making a change in an Application Window's placement or a Document’s position, it may take 15-20 seconds in order for that change to be registered by the Operating System. This is typically fast enough to be caught by the Operating System by the time SpaceKeep activated and the Save button for your selected workspace is clicked. This is a limitation of the Operating System itself and not something SpaceKeep has direct control over.

Why isn’t an App that’s open showing up in SpaceKeep as an option to be saved with my Workspace?
There are a small number of Apps that are not compatible with SpaceKeep. Most of these Apps are Windowless Apps which do not have position or placement to save by their nature of operation. An even smaller number of Apps are not available due to certain incompatible APIs that they use. We continue to look to add compatibility for more Apps if and where possible. If there’s an App you’d like to see supported on SpaceKeep, let us know by contacting our support 🙂

Why isn’t my Browser showing up in SpaceKeep as an option to be saved with my Workspace?
Currently, SpaceKeep supports the following browsers: Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. If there’s another browser you’d like to see supported on SpaceKeep, let us know by contacting our support 🙂

Why didn't my Browser restore my saved tabs after clicking Restore Space in SpaceKeep?
Please make sure you have enabled the ability to restore tabs from within your Browser's Settings page. This step is necessary prior to saving a Workspace with a given Browser. The following describes how to enable this option in various browsers:
Safari: No option is necessary
Google Chrome: Settings → On startup → 🔘 Continue where you left off
Microsoft Edge: Settings → Start, home, and new tabs When Edge starts → 🔘 Open tabs from the previous session
Firefox: Settings → GeneralStartup → ☑️ Open previous windows and tabs
Brave: Settings → Get startedOn startup 🔘 Continue where you left off
Opera: Settings → On startup 🔘 Retain tabs from previous session
Vivaldi: Settings → GeneralSTARTUPStartup with → 🔘 Last Session
- Note: If your browser supports Profiles for signed in accounts, such as in Chrome, make sure the above option is enabled for each Profile/Account you wish to use with to use with SpaceKeep.
- If you don't see your saved tabs in your browser after restoring your workspace via SpaceKeep, make sure the Profile/Account your workspace was saved for is selected from within your browser.

Why didn’t an App I saved in my Workspace re-open in the position I saved it in?
There are a small number of Apps that use APIs which are not native to macOS and are thus incompatible with the default mechanism used by SpaceKeep. We continue to looking to add compatibility for more Apps if and where possible. If there’s an App you’d like to see better supported on SpaceKeep, let us know by contacting our support 🙂

What happens if I save a Snapshot for a previously saved Workspace without one of the previously saved Apps active?
When you re-save a previously saved Workspace, and one of the previously included Apps in the Workspace is not activate/open, SpaceKeep will forward the last saved data of the App into the new Snapshot. You also have the option to remove the App from the Workspace’s next Snapshot by unchecking it from the available Apps Table.

Why does SpaceKeep disappear when I save a Workspace?
When saving a workspace, if the Screenshot option is enabled (can be disabled in SpaceKeep General Preferences), the SpaceKeep Window will momentarily fade out of view so the Screenshot will have a clear view of your Workspace and not be obscured by the SpaceKeep Window. Note: When the Screenshot option is disabled, the SpaceKeep Window will not fade out of view when saving a Workspace

Why did I get a popup window when I tried to restore my saved Workspace?
In order to restore a Workspace, all Apps included in the Workspace need to be manually closed. This is a requirement of macOS. SpaceKeep helps expedite the process by automatically activating each of the Apps the need to be closed sequentially. Please save any unsaved work you have in these Apps, then safely close them. SpaceKeep will automatically reopen each of them (and any other app included in your Workspace) once all the Apps have been closed. The floating popup window helps by showing which Apps remain that need to be closed before restoring your Workspace is completed.
