Do Files archive in the same folder they are currently in?
Yes, Files that are archived will be moved to a Folder named ‘FileKeep Archive’ in the container folder in which the file currently resides.
Will expired files move to the Archive folder or Trash when FileKeep is not running?
FileKeep needs to be active for expired files to be moved. If a file expired when FileKeep was inactive, the expired file will be moved at the next launch of FileKeep
Will FileKeep notify me before moving a file?
When adding an expiration date to a file, there is also an option to either be prompted before moving or to automatically move without confirmation. The default selection can be adjusted in Settings.
If I move a file with an expiration date to a different folder, will FileKeep still apply the expiration date action that were set?
As long as the new folder is within one of the Monitored folders or subfolders, FileKeep will still apply the expiration date action that was originally set.
Can I move a file in the Archive folder or Trash back to the original folder?
When FileKeep moves a file to the Archive folder or Trash, the expiration date options are no longer linked to the file; you are free to manually move the files back without needing to remove the original expiration date options.
